Eight tonnes is bought for strength as much as height. At this rating the structure of the machine, boom sections, slew ring, outrigger legs and track frames, is built to carry loads that would not be attempted on a five-tonne unit even where the chart allows them.
The carrier weighs 8.7 t. That is a real transport consideration: 6.15 m long, 1.6 m wide and 2.25 m high folded, and it needs either a low-loader or a 40-foot container rather than a small trailer. Buyers at this level usually own a machine mover, or hire one per project.
Work that suits it: steel frames and roof trusses on low-rise commercial buildings, heavy curtain wall units in frames, precast elements, plant rooms, and industrial plant installation where the lift is awkward rather than extreme.
A Five-Section Boom From 5.5 To 21 Metres
The boom is a 5 m base with five sections, running 5.5 m to 21 m in about fifty-four seconds, luffing 0 to 78 degrees in thirteen and slewing continuously through 360 degrees in roughly thirty-eight seconds. Hook speed is 12 m/min on a two-speed winch with a 12 mm rope of 80 m and a winch rated for the class.
At 21 m the machine is working well above the roofline of most two and three storey buildings, which is where its buyers live: setting trusses, air handling units and solar frames on roofs that no lorry crane can reach without closing a road.

Two-section outrigger legs, manual screw-out with cylinder support, extending to 7,000 mm along the machine, 5,070 mm at the rear and 6,700 mm at the front. Those are large numbers and they are the reason the machine can be rated 8 t: without the spread there is no rating, only a hope.
Steel tracks 350 mm wide with a 52.5 mm pitch and 104 sections per side, hydraulically driven with high and low speed selection at 0 to 2.5 km/h and gradeability of 25 degrees or 36 percent. Ground loadings per outrigger are supplied with the quotation so a slab can be checked before the machine arrives rather than after.

Standard 8-ton crawler spider crane. Custom configurations across the 1.2 t to 16 t range, with optional devices quoted as separate lines.

Torque controller, remote control, cradle and hydraulic flying jib, in red, green, yellow, white, grey or black. We also supply the documents a main contractor will ask for: outrigger loading figures, the load chart, lifting points and a parts catalogue with item numbers. On a machine of this size those papers are part of the product.

Q: What does an 8 ton spider crane lift at 18 m? A: Whatever the chart states at that radius, which is well below the nominal rating. We run your pick against the chart before the quotation is issued.
Q: How is it transported? A: Folded at 6.15 m by 1.6 m by 2.25 m and weighing 8.7 t, it travels on a low-loader or in a 40-foot container with the boom retracted and outriggers in.
Q: Do you supply outrigger loadings for the slab? A: Yes, with the quotation, so your engineer can check the floor before the machine is committed to a project.
Q: Is remote control available? A: Yes, as an option, and on a machine with 21 m of reach it is the option most buyers add, because the operator cannot see both the load and the outriggers from one position.
Q: Lead time and payment terms? A: 20 to 30 days for the standard build plus 10 to 15 days for customisation, 30 percent with the order and 70 percent against shipping documents.
Send the heaviest pick with its radius, the height, the access route, the ground under the outriggers and the lifting points available on site. With the destination port and quantity we return a quotation covering the machine, options, spare parts set and freight. Minimum order is one unit, and each machine ships crated with a 12-month warranty and ten years of wear-part support.
